Type Locality and Naming

Along the Akbulak River, basin of the Chatkal River, Pri-Tashkent region. Identified based on data from A.R. Blazheevich (Safarov et al., 1999).

Synonym: Akbulak Moraine, Акбулакская морена


Lithology and Thickness

Represented by morainic deposits of terminal, lateral, medial, and bottom moraines, as well as ice cores of modern glaciers. Chaotic accumulation of sharp-angled and angular fragments ranging in size from 15-30 cm to a meter and larger. Filling is varied to sandy-aleurolitic(silty). Thickness 40-50m, and up to 70m.
